How to download your Scotiabank bank statement as a PDF

If you bank with Scotiabank, your monthly statement is the most accurate record of what you actually spent. Downloading it as a PDF takes a few minutes — and once you have the file, you can upload it to Vereloop Finance for automatic transaction parsing, spending categories, and month-over-month trends without manual spreadsheet entry.

Scotiabank stores official account statements in its document centre rather than as a simple transaction export. That is good news for budgeting: a PDF statement includes every posted debit and credit, opening and closing balances, and fee lines that CSV exports sometimes omit. Whether you use a Scotia chequing account, a savings account, or a Scotia Scene-linked everyday account, the download path is the same.

Scotia menus change slightly over time, but the flow below matches Scotiabank online banking for personal chequing and savings accounts as of 2026. If your screen looks different, look for Statements, Documents, or My Documents under your account or in the main navigation after you sign in at scotiabank.com.

Download a Scotiabank statement (web)

  1. Sign in at scotiabank.com and open Scotiabank Online Banking.
  2. From the accounts overview, select the chequing or savings account you want.
  3. Open Statements & documents — in many layouts this appears under the account details page, or via Manage my accountsDocuments.
  4. Browse to Account statements and choose the statement period you need. Start with the last 2–3 months for a useful spending baseline.
  5. Click Download, View PDF, or the PDF icon next to the statement date, then save the file to your computer.
  6. Repeat for each month you want to analyze. Scotia typically keeps several years of statements available online.

If you manage multiple Scotia accounts — for example, a primary chequing account and a separate savings account — download a PDF for each one. Vereloop Finance tracks account type per upload, so keeping files separate makes reconciliation easier later.

Scotia also issues tax slips and notices of change through the same document area. Stick to monthly account statements for spending analysis; those files list individual transactions in chronological order, which is what parsers need.

Mobile app (Scotia)

  1. Open the Scotiabank Mobile Banking app and sign in with your usual credentials.
  2. Tap the Accounts tab and select your chequing or savings account.
  3. Look for Statements, Documents, or a More menu on the account screen.
  4. Select the statement month you need and tap Download or View.
  5. Use Share, Save to Files, or Save to device to store the PDF where you can upload it later.

On iPhone, saving to the Files app keeps the original PDF intact. On Android, use Share to send the file to Google Drive or your Downloads folder. Avoid screenshotting pages — PDFs preserve transaction text so parsers can read dates, amounts, and merchant names reliably.

If the mobile app only shows a preview, use the share sheet to export the full document. When in doubt, the web version at scotiabank.com usually offers the most straightforward PDF download button.

What to do with the PDF next

A PDF sitting in your Downloads folder does not help you budget. The useful step is turning it into structured data:

New to PDF-based tracking? Read why bank PDFs beat manual spreadsheets for the bigger picture on why starting from your official statement beats copying numbers into a template by hand.

Banking with more than one institution? After your Scotia files are uploaded, see our guide on downloading TD statements as PDF if you also hold accounts there.
