How to download your CIBC bank statement as a PDF

If you bank with CIBC, your monthly statement is the most accurate record of what you actually spent. Downloading it as a PDF takes a few minutes — and once you have the file, you can upload it to Vereloop Finance for automatic transaction parsing, spending categories, and month-over-month trends without manual spreadsheet entry.

CIBC Online Banking at cibc.com stores e-statements for chequing, savings, and many other deposit accounts. Unlike a quick transaction search in the app, an official PDF statement captures every line item for the full billing period — including fees, interest, and pre-authorized debits that might not appear in a filtered view. That completeness is exactly what automated parsers need to build an accurate budget.

CIBC menus change slightly over time, but the flow below matches CIBC online banking for personal chequing and savings accounts as of 2026. If your screen looks different, look for Statements, Documents, or Manage documents under your account or in the main navigation after signing in at cibc.com.

Download a CIBC statement (web)

  1. Sign in at cibc.com and open CIBC Online Banking.
  2. From the accounts dashboard, select the chequing or savings account you want.
  3. Click View account details, then open Documents or Statements — sometimes listed under Account services.
  4. Choose Account statements and pick the statement period you need. Start with the last 2–3 months for a useful spending baseline.
  5. Click Download PDF, View, or the PDF link next to the date, then save the file to your computer.
  6. Repeat for each month you want to analyze. CIBC keeps multiple years of e-statements available online for most accounts.

CIBC Smart Account, Everyday Chequing, and CIBC eAdvantage Savings all follow the same document path. If you hold a CIBC credit card as well, note that card statements live under the credit card account — not the chequing documents folder. This guide focuses on deposit account PDFs for day-to-day spending analysis.

Prefer a paper trail? CIBC still supports mailed statements for some accounts, but e-statements arrive faster and download as clean PDFs. Switching to e-statements in account settings removes mail delay and gives you instant access in the document centre.

Mobile app (CIBC)

  1. Open the CIBC Mobile Banking app and sign in.
  2. Tap Accounts and select your chequing or savings account.
  3. Tap More or the menu icon, then select Documents or Statements.
  4. Choose the statement month and open the PDF.
  5. Use Share, Save to Files, or your device's download option to store the PDF locally.

Tip: PDFs work better than screenshots — they preserve transaction text so parsers can read dates, amounts, and merchant names reliably. CIBC's mobile PDFs include the same transaction detail as the web version.

On some devices the app opens statements in an in-app browser. If you do not see a save button, tap the share icon and choose "Save to Files" or send the PDF to yourself by email, then download the attachment on your computer for upload.

What to do with the PDF next

A PDF sitting in your Downloads folder does not help you budget. The useful step is turning it into structured data:
